This privately operated reference is not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, release a person, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the record.

Official Itasca County Contacts

Choose the office based on who held the person and which record is needed. A missing jail-roster entry does not establish release because the person may have transferred to another custodian.

Itasca County Jail

Itasca County Sheriff’s Office
108 NE 5th Street
Grand Rapids, MN 55744
Phone: 218-326-3477
Public jail contact: open 24 hours

Call the jail for current county custody questions. Only the jail can confirm whether a person remains there or left under a recorded disposition.

Itasca Records Division

108 NE 5th Street
Grand Rapids, MN 55744
Phone: 218-327-7472
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Use the Records Division and its online data-request portal for an existing jail release, custody, or booking record. A legacy form lists fax 218-326-4663 and records@co.itasca.mn.us, but confirm those routes before using them.

County and State Supervision

Itasca County Probation: 218-327-2869
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
MN DOC Grand Rapids/Itasca supervision: 218-322-2920

County Probation handles adult misdemeanor and gross-misdemeanor cases. MN DOC handles felony probation and state supervised release. Official county pages list conflicting probation street addresses, so call before visiting.

Minnesota Department of Corrections

1450 Energy Park Drive
St. Paul, MN 55108
Phone: 651-361-7200

Use the MN DOC public viewer for state custody or supervision. MCF–Togo can be reached at 62741 County Road 551, Togo, MN 55723, or 218-376-7878.

Itasca County District Court

123 Fourth Street NE
Grand Rapids, MN 55744
Phone: 218-327-2870
Fax: 218-327-2897
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The district court can address case filings, sentencing orders, warrants, and court copies. A court calendar is not a custody-status list.

Choose the Right Search Route

Start with the system tied to the custody event. Then verify any result with the responsible office.

  • For a released person or jail record, use the home search and records path, the jail, or the Records Division.
  • For state or county supervision, use Post-Release Supervision and the correct probation office.
  • For a recent county status change, consult 24-Hour Releases; Itasca County does not publish a dedicated online release feed.
  • For date or notification help, use Release Date Lookup or VINE Inmate Check.
  • For state-prison notification, use Minnesota Haven rather than county-jail VINE.
  • For a federal or immigration case, use the official BOP or ICE locator and the relevant federal records process.
